Just a quick update. I'm having a great time at the ALA Midwinter Conference. I got to meet and have conversations with 2 of my cataloging/metadata heroes: Diane Hillmann and Janet Swan Hill. Today I'm off to an OCLC forum sponsored by ALCTS, Moving Library Services to the Network Level. Stay tuned. RDA/FRBR and the LC working group report have been hot topics at this conference. I will try to share some of my notes and observations soon.
Christine,
Sorry I missed you--I was only able to stay through Sunday.
Just want to reiterate that RDA and FRBR are the hot topics right now. The RDA Implementation Task Force met Saturday morning and we had a great meeting---in addition to the members of the Task Force we had many observers---standing room only it seemed.
We are planning a program for ALA Annual--so keep it on your radar. I fully realize the controversy surrounding RDA right now, especially with the LC Working Group report and its call to suspend work on RDA. However, we on the implementation task force are proceeding forward as charged by the CCS.

Shawne, Sorry I missed you. Thanks for the update on the RDA Implementation Task Force meeting and the plans to move forward. This is definitely going to be a interesting year for the cataloging community.
