I've been watching some of the Webcasts from the LC Working Group meetings. And I get the sense from Deanna Marcum that the Library of Congress already has strategic plans and a vision as to how they want to move forward in the "Web world." It seems this vision will require the Library of Congress to shift funds and resources to digitizing their special collections (I suppose that's already happening). Before they do they need to let the library community know (in detail) what is going to happen with the development, maintenance, and distribution of Library of Congress cataloging tools: Library of Congress Classification Schedules or Class Web, Library of Congress Subject Headings, Library of Congress Authority File, MARC 21 formats, and to a lesser extent, Library of Congress Rule Interpretations. Any thoughts?
